Monthly Commoner’s Breakfast & Guided Walk at Hockey’s Farm
Back by popular demand! Following the massive success of our New Forest Awakening festival walks, our Walk & Talk Breakfasts are now a regular monthly event. Join us on the last Thursday / Friday of the month! Experience the New Forest through the eyes of a local.
Join us for a unique morning going behind the scenes of Forest life with an inspiring local expert.
Start your morning with a hearty, locally sourced Hockey's breakfast before heading out into the landscape to see the Forest change through the seasons. Each month, our guest guides - ranging from award-winning Commoning Champions to passionate locals - will share their deep-rooted knowledge of commoning traditions, the livestock that shape the land, and the vital work being done to protect this ancient landscape.
Timings:
08:45 - 09:15: Arrival for coffee and tea with a friendly discussion around the New Forest.
09:30: Your Hockey’s breakfast is served (make sure you’re at your table!).
10:15: Join our local expert for an engaging talk on New Forest life and commoning.
10:30: Start to make a move on the Hockey’s Loop Walk. We’ll guide you, talk you through the area, local traditions, the rights of the Commoner, and the excellent work protecting the New Forest.
12:00 (Approx): Arrive back at the farm. Enjoy a final chance to chat about the Forest or browse our award-winning Farm Shop. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up some of the local New Forest Marque produce you enjoyed at breakfast!
These intimate events are ticket-only and our previous walks sold out quickly, so please book early to secure your spot.
Note: By attending this event, you are directly supporting the preservation of New Forest traditions and local food producers.
