Volunteer at Hockey’s: The "Green Gym" Experience
Swap the treadmill for the paddock and get back to nature.
Have you ever looked at the donkeys and pigs at Hockey’s and wondered what goes into looking after them? We are opening up a register for enthusiastic volunteers who want to roll up their sleeves, get their boots muddy, and experience the reality of farm life in the New Forest.
Whether you are looking to build experience for a career in agriculture/vet studies, or you simply want a "digital detox" and some honest physical work in the fresh air, we’d love to hear from you.

What to Expect:
This isn’t just petting the animals (though there is plenty of that!). Volunteering at Hockey’s is about getting stuck in. Typical tasks might include:
The Morning Rounds: Helping with feeding and watering the livestock.
Paddock Maintenance: Mucking out, straw bedding, and keeping the animal homes clean.
General Farm Upkeep: Fencing checks, painting, and helping us prepare for events
Who We Are Looking For:
You don’t need to be an expert farmer, but you do need:
A "Can-Do" Attitude: Happy to work outside in all weathers.
Reliability: The animals rely on us 365 days a year!
Physical Fitness: There will be lifting, walking, and plenty of movement.
Why Volunteer?
Gain Experience: Perfect for CVs, DofE, or college/university applications.
Mental Wellbeing: There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of a hard day’s work and the company of animals to clear the mind.
Community: Join our friendly team and become part of the Hockey’s family.
