The Summer Series at Hockey's: Seven Friday Nights, Seven Incredible Food Experiences
Summer is all about making memories, lingering a little longer around the table and discovering something new. That's exactly what inspired The Summer Series at Hockey's Farm Shop.
Nestled in South Gorley, near Fordingbridge, in the heart of the beautiful New Forest National Park, we're excited to introduce a brand-new collection of weekly themed dining evenings that celebrate fantastic food, great company and the creativity of our wonderful Kitchen Manager, Kerry.
Running from 24th July through to 4th September, The Summer Series invites you to travel the world through food, without leaving the New Forest. Every event has its own unique menu, carefully crafted using quality ingredients, freshly made desserts and plenty of Kerry's signature flair. Whether you're a returning guest or visiting Hockey's for the very first time, each evening promises a completely different experience.
A Summer of Flavour
One of the things we love most at Hockey's is bringing people together. Good food has a wonderful way of doing just that, and The Summer Series has been designed with exactly that in mind.
Picture a warm Friday evening, delicious food arriving at your table, conversations flowing and the relaxed atmosphere that makes Hockey's such a special place to spend time with family and friends.
Each week, we'll be taking your tastebuds somewhere completely different.
Friday 24th July - Fish Pie Night
We're beginning the series with a comforting British classic.
Expect our delicious freshly cooked on site Fish Pie served with seasonal summer vegetables, alongside a Fishless Pie option for vegetarian guests, before finishing with a wonderfully nostalgic Fruits of the Forest Trifle. To complement the evening, we'll also have a selection of wines and Hawkstone drinks available.
Friday 31st July - Persian Night
Our second evening transports you to the Middle East with a menu full of vibrant colours and fragrant flavours.
Enjoy Chicken tagine with Preserved Lemon and Olives, beautifully bejewelled rice, freshly baked rosemary focaccia, a delicious stuffed aubergine vegetarian option and baklava to finish.
Friday 7th August - Hockey's Big Texan BBQ
No summer would be complete without an incredible barbecue.
Working alongside our award-winning butchery team, Tom and Graham will be helping create a mouth-watering Texan-inspired feast showcasing the exceptional quality meat Hockey's is known for. Finish the evening with a classic Key Lime Pie for the perfect taste of summer.
Friday 14th August - Vietnamese Night
Fresh, vibrant and beautifully balanced, Vietnamese cuisine is loved around the world for its aromatic herbs, colourful ingredients and incredible flavours.
We're putting the finishing touches to this exciting menu, so keep an eye on our social media as we reveal more soon.
Friday 21st August - Kerry's Fried Chicken Night
Comfort food, the Hockey's way.
Enjoy Kerry's own fried chicken served alongside waffle fries, creamy slaw and sweetcorn on the cob before rounding off the evening with Crème Brûlée and rosemary shortbread.
It's familiar, comforting and guaranteed to become a favourite.
Friday 28th August - Indian Thali Night
A true celebration of Indian cuisine.
Our Indian Thali will feature a delicious selection of curries, sides and vegetarian dishes, allowing you to enjoy a wonderful variety of flavours in one unforgettable meal. Dessert is the traditional Indian rice pudding, Kheer.
Friday 4th September - Mexican Night
We're ending The Summer Series with bold, vibrant flavours inspired by Mexico.
Slow-cooked beef brisket with chocolate chilli, rice, corn chips, vegetarian chilli and freshly made churros promise the perfect finale to what we hope will become a Hockey's tradition.
Kerry's Vision Comes to Life
If you've visited the Farmyard Café recently, you'll already have noticed the exciting new dishes appearing on the menu. Kerry has brought fresh inspiration, seasonal creativity and a real passion for producing food that people genuinely enjoy.
The Summer Series is an opportunity for her to take that creativity even further, exploring different cuisines while staying true to everything Hockey's stands for: quality ingredients, generous hospitality and memorable dining experiences.
Every menu has been thoughtfully planned to ensure each evening feels unique, giving guests plenty of reasons to return throughout the summer.

Places for each evening are limited, so we recommend booking early once tickets are released.
